TECHNOLOGY INTERN

Community Shares, founded in 1985, is a nonprofit fundraising federation that provides an independent source of funds for 40 Cleveland-area social justice organizations. We provide increased choice for employees within workplace giving campaigns, resulting in increased funding for important local nonprofits. Through advocacy, education and empowerment, our member organizations work to address the root causes of problems facing our community.

The intern will assist the Manager of Information Systems in technology tasks that are necessary to facilitate our internal and external communications and to maintain and utilize our donor database.

TASKS MAY INCLUDE:

  • Build, configure and install network workstations
  • Set up and train staff on use of a Shared Calendar through Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Set up and train staff on assigning tasks to individuals and auto-notification of completion
  • Create documentation for database operation
  • Create Network & Workstation Help Manual for use by all staff
  • Create templates for use in Word & Excel and train staff in their use
  • Assists in database re-design, including re-creating forms, queries, reports, macros and modules, developing menu systems, combining tables, etc.
  • Enter data in campaign database
SKILLS:
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Access
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
Internships are 200 hours; schedules are flexible; a small stipend may be available. Resumes are accepted year-round.
