VOLUNTEER
There are many opportunities to put your time, skills and talents to work for Community Shares and its member nonprofit organizations. You may give as much or as little time as you like, on a one-time or an ongoing basis, and we will work with you to accommodate your schedule.

Community Shares currently has four very exciting volunteer opportunities available for experienced professionals in the following areas.
Business Development - Contribute your skills and expertise in business development to work with the executive director and the access committee to develop and implement strategies for opening up new workplaces for charitable giving campaigns.

PR/Marketing - Lend your PR/marketing expertise and experience to our efforts by supporting Community Shares' staff and committee in the creation and implementation of a full spectrum PR/marketing plan. Also, serve as a coach and mentor to our Director of Development & PR/Marketing.

Fundraising - Put your fundraising expertise and experience to work by serving as a coach and mentor to our Director of Development & PR/Marketing. This position also includes work with the development committee to provide strategic direction for Community Shares' operations fundraising.

Campaign Management - Combine your strong project management and customer service skills with your commitment to social justice values to manage select workplace giving campaigns. Campaign management includes building a supportive working relationship with the workplace and encouraging employee involvement in the campaign.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities
Serve on a Community Shares Committee.
Volunteers serve in the below areas. You may wish to help with any or all of the activities listed under each. You will work with a staff person and will receive whatever training is necessary to accomplish your task.
Access Committee: identifies and pursues companies and organizations that may be interested in supporting Community Shares by conducting an employee giving campaign.
Campaign Committee: works with participating campaign work sites--their leadership and employees-- to ensure a successful campaign and increased support for Community Shares and its member organizations.
Development Committee: coordinates efforts to raise operations funds (foundations, private donations, major gifts, corporate gifts) to support the infrastructure and long-term sustainability of Community Shares.
Finance and Investment Committee: oversees organization finances, including budget, audit, and strategic investments.
Membership Committee: oversees all issues and activities related to member organizations, including considering prospective new members, evaluating current members, and providing networking and professional development opportunities to member nonprofits.
Public Relations/Marketing Committee: strives to raise awareness about Community Shares and its member organizations in the Greater Cleveland community.
Special Events Committee: plans and implements annual special events and fundraisers, including "It's a Wing Thing!" and Community Shares' annual meeting.
Assist with office and administrative projects: assist with computer or bookkeeping projects, database management, mailings, phones, filing, website maintenance, or other office tasks on an occasional basis.
Member Organization Volunteers
Volunteer for one of Shares' member organizations: Community Shares can help connect you with one or more of our member nonprofit organizations that may have various volunteer opportunities available.
