Nurenburg, Paris, Heller & McCarthy's NP4CLE Charity of the Month Program will feature Community Shares throughout February 2021. Each month, they feature a charity on their Facebook page, and for every “Like” they receive, they make a donation to the featured cause or charity.
See the NP4CLE video on Community Shares here. The video features interviews with some of our members, including Chris Alvarado from Slavic Village Development, Cynthia Connolly from Policy Matters Ohio, Joy Johnson from Burten, Bell, Carr Development, and Sharon Harvey from the Cleveland APL as well as Pam Turos and daughter Lauren from our Giving Tuesday project.
On Thursday, May 21, Community Shares Executive Director, Cynthia Ries participated in a virtual forum to talk about how Greater Cleveland nonprofits have had to pivot in order to provide essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic – and how they will survive in the wake of budget cuts and an economic downturn that could reduce philanthropic support.
The panel was moderated by Rachel Dissell, former reporter of The Plain Dealer and two-time Community Shares Social Justice Communications awardee.
Other featured panelists included: Emily Campbell of The Center for Community Solutions, Melissa Graves of member group, Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center, and Sondra Miller of Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
